Thank you for your interest in the role of Senior Inspector. This is not a new role, although we are broadening the scope of the existing team and expanding its remit by recruiting more Senior Inspectors.
In the UK, we are the largest single provider of inspection services to Ofsted. Our large workforce of mainly freelance inspectors carries out inspections throughout Ofstedās South region, including much of London and covering over a third of institutions in England. We inspect maintained schools, non-association independent schools, learning and skills and initial teacher education and now seek Senior Inspectors with experience in any of these remits.
For those of you with a learning and skills background, we will particularly welcome applications from serving practitioners with expertise in curriculum and/or leadership and management gained in Work Based Learning, FE Colleges, Adult and Community Learning, Nextstep, Train to Gain, Independent Specialist Colleges, Sixth Form Colleges, HM Armed Forces and Judiciary.
We are keen to recruit experienced inspectors with a strong track record of leading high quality inspections who are interested in developing their careers. A Senior Inspector role will give you the opportunity to lead and manage a team of inspectors, motivate them to strive for excellence and develop their inspection skills. At Tribal, we believe in the importance of inspection as a powerful catalyst for improvement and Senior Inspectors play a vital part in spreading that message. We want others to benefit from your inspection experience.
If appointed, you will contribute to the development of Tribal Inspections and become involved in a wide range of inspection related activities. There will be opportunities to extend your portfolio into areas such as leadership, mentoring, quality assurance, advice/guidance and international work. We will offer an attractive remuneration package to successful candidates.
Tribal also offers a range of school improvement and consultancy services. Because of our work for Ofsted (to avoid any conflict of interest) we only provide these to schools in those parts of England where we do not inspect. These services include school design, curriculum and management consultancy, training and professional development, and recruitment and selection.
We anticipate that you will enjoy working with us. Your immediate professional peer group will be our Senior Inspectors team. We value innovation, a bias for action and high degrees of professional autonomy. Our staff are largely drawn from the public sector and we pride ourselves on having a strong set of public service values. We want to make a positive difference to the lives of young people and do that through the delivery of high quality inspections. I hope you will want to join us.
If this sounds of interest to you, we would like you to apply by sending a short (maximum one side of A4) letter of application which seeks to convince us of your strengths. This should be accompanied by an up to date, full CV which contains the names of two professional referees and includes your current salary. The closing date is 7th February 2010 at 12 noon.
If you want to discuss any aspect of this role then please email inspections.recruitment@tribalgroup.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Janet Tomlinson
